The Anchor Inn And Suites offered an excellent view of Quadra Island from my room. The hot tub and pool were enjoyable amenities after a long day of work. The included full buffet breakfast provided a solid start to each morning, and having the oceanfront dining area was a good touch.
The hotel was somewhat outdated and in need of repairs.

Some employees at the reception were very nice and helpful.
Breakfast is close to disaster. The staff was almost overwhelmed in some cases. . There is an urgent need for modernisation.

My stay was very good on holidays. The food was fabulous and served in the bar. Had a queen room with super king bed, a balcony plus a waterfront view and I loved it.
Some of the staff were not very friendly.

I stayed for one night in a King Room. Super cozy beds, and the ocean views from my room were a treat! The fridge was noisy and the air conditioning startled me awake in the night. Still, great overall value for the price!

We loved the fine ocean views from our room, especially with mom enjoying the sun-dappled water and passing boats. The staff was great, helping us out with anything we needed. Plus, the comfortable beds.
My kids wished there had been a more accessible family pool area.

The location.
My first clue should have been the price, I figured it was the end of the season pricing as the picture on the website looked pretty good. However, the picture does not truthfully portray the hotel. It must be the origianal architectures drawing of 40 years ago, believe me it does not look like that today. The description states there are private balconies. Perhaps there may be some in some part of the building but where I stayed they were anything but private. They were one long balcony only separated by a waist high railing. Most disappointing as I would have liked to sit out there in the evening to enjoy the spectacular view. With people sitting a few feet away in their chairs it felt uncomfortable. The sliding doors were filthy and I could barely see out of them when sitting inside. With one of them the seal was broken and the glass was cloudy. Sitting close to the sliding doors was difficult anyway, because I don't believe the drapes have been cleaned in years, they smelled dusty. There were no screens and within 5 minutes the room was filled with flies. The only air circulation was a stand alone small fan on top of the cabinet. The hallways are dark and dingy. A very uncomfortable and distasteful stay.
